Digital MWC Gallery Patron
Digital gallery patron is Richard Wesley Hamming, a famous American mathematician, inventor of Hamming codes. Hamming codes are single-error correcting and double-error detecting, they are perfect codes. This code is a mathematical trick to correct up to 4 lost bits in a serial transmission. In telecommunication, channel encodings like the hamming code help us to avoid data loss which occured between two nodes (for example two computers - the sender and the receiver) and give the receiver the possibility to correct faulty bits directly as they arrive.
It sounds like a joke but Hades-Hamming codes are all-error correcting. Especially, art errors. Maybe the whole contemporary art is a huge error. Perhaps one day the art WILL become "mathistic" (see Manifesto of the Mathism, 2005 (on Russian)).
The art should stop to be only decorative thing and to satisfy only aesthetic needs... Maslow believed that humans also have cognitive needs, they have the need to increase their intelligence and thereby chase knowledge. Our MWC team also believe it. The art should become strictly intellectual thing. MWC gallery is a place where art, philosophy, science and big money meet together.
